Use of our Website

The content of the pages of this website is for your general information and use only and is subject to change without notice. Although we do our best to make sure these pages are accurate, we do not provide any warranty or guarantee as to the accuracy, timeliness, performance, completeness or suitability of the information found on this website for any particular purpose. You acknowledge that such information and materials may contain inaccuracies or errors and we expressly exclude liability for any such inaccuracies or errors to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Product Descriptions

Every effort has been made to ensure that all details, dimensions, colours, illustrations, descriptions etc... are correct.  Specifications however may be subject to change and we therefore offer this information as a guide only. Alterations may be made without prior notice.  In particular, packaging and the cover images and editions of sheet music and other publications may vary from those shown.

Ordering Process

We reserve the right to decline any order placed. Your confirmation email indicates that we have received your order and payment but is not a firm contract between us. This term is included to protect us in the event that an inadvertent mistake has been made in the description, availability or pricing of a product on the website. In particular, for products that are not in stock and are listed on the website with an expected availability date, details of price and availability are estimated based on the most recent information provided to us by the manufacturer, publisher or distributor. If, after receiving your order, we find that we are unable to supply the product as described or at the price listed we will contact you to offer an alternative or cancellation of the order with full refund of your payment.

All card payments are processed securely through SagePay and we never have access to your card details.

For stock items your card will be authorised, but we do not take payment until we are shipping the goods.

If you have ordered an item that is shown as out of stock or available within a period of time, we will however take your payment in advance. This is because your authorisation will expire otherwise, and we would not be able to take your payment when the item comes in.

Value Added Tax

Prices shown on the website include Value Added Tax (VAT).  If a purchase is made for delivery outside the European Union, VAT will be deducted from the price paid at checkout.

At the current time most products on the website are subject to VAT at 20%.  The main exceptions are sheet music and books which are zero rated for VAT in the UK.

Delivery and Returns

Please see the separate section for our policies on delivery and returns See Delivery Page

Back Orders and Expected Availability

Our website indicates whether we are out of stock. For products that are out of stock we have provided a timeframe for expected availability for despatch based on our overall prior experience of the manufacturer, publisher or distrubutor.  This expected availability for despatch is not a guarantee that the product will arrive in that time and the period could be considerably longer.  For example, if a distributor is out of stock themselves or an item of sheet music is out of print or an archive product.

If we determine that your order or part of your order is not available for shipment within the expected availability timeframe, we will let you know via e-mail. We will also give you an approximate delivery date and the option to cancel if you wish. Any payment taken will be refunded.

Security

We are committed to ensuring that your information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorised access or disclosure, we have put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We never have access to your card details, and all your personal details are collected and held on our secure server.

We are fully PCI DSS (Payment Card Industry Data Systems Standard) compliant.

Guarantees

All instruments carry at least a one year manufacturer’s warranty, and most have two years. We honour all guarantees in the same way as if they were purchased in our shop. If you have any problems, or need advice or assistance, just e-mail or phone us.

WEEE Regulations

If you own a musical instrument or associated product with this symbol attached, it is covered by the WEEE (Waste Electronic & Electrical Equipment) Directive.

It is important that products bearing this symbol are disposed of at a proper facility so that they can be recycled and dealt with by ecologically friendly methods. The Dukes Music, as a retailer of such items, is responsible under category 4 (Electronic & Electrical Equipment -EEE) for seeing that you can dispose of your WEEE products free of any charge.

We therefore offer our customers free take-back of their WEEE items on a like-for-like basis. For example, if you purchase an electronic tuner from us, we will accept an old electronic tuner and arrange for its safe disposal. Customers must return their old WEEE product within 28 days of receiving their new one. You can either bring it into our shop, or phone us and we will arrange collection free of charge.

Please ensure that any item marked with the above symbol is properly disposed of, separately from normal household waste.
